How Your Session Works

1. Hair assessment (10 mins) — Your stylist assesses your hair type, porosity, previous chemical treatments and the degree of frizz. This determines the keratin formula strength and processing time best suited to your hair. We’ll also set realistic expectations — very curly or coily hair may require multiple sessions for maximum smoothness.
2. Clarifying shampoo wash (15 mins) — A deep-cleansing clarifying shampoo is used to strip away product build-up, oils and residue. This step is critical — it opens the hair cuticle so the keratin can penetrate deeply and bond effectively. No conditioner is used at this stage.
3. Blow-dry to 80% (15–20 mins) — Hair is blow-dried until approximately 80% dry. It must not be fully dry before keratin application — the slight moisture helps the formula distribute evenly.
4. Keratin formula application (30–45 mins) — The keratin formula is applied section by section using a fine-tooth comb, ensuring every strand is coated from root to tip. The formula is worked through each section methodically for even coverage.
5. Processing time (20–30 mins) — The keratin is left to process and penetrate the hair shaft. Your stylist monitors the processing throughout.
6. Heat sealing with flat iron (45–60 mins) — This is the most critical step. A professional flat iron at 230°C is passed over each section multiple times to seal the keratin permanently into the hair shaft. The number of passes determines the degree of smoothness — more passes for straighter results, fewer for a natural smooth finish.
7. Final blow-dry & finish (15–20 mins) — Hair is blow-dried and finished. You’ll leave the salon with visibly smoother, shinier, frizz-free hair. Your stylist will walk you through the after-care routine — sulphate-free shampoo is essential to maintain results.
